Unrefined and pressed from a proprietary blend of Indian seeds, it has a warm, peppery flavour and a natural sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Tested thymoquinone content - 9.6 mg/ml, confirmed by laboratory analysis. Enjoy it straight off the spoon, in a morning smoothie, or mixed with honey.

About the product

Olini Cold-Pressed Black Cumin Oil is made from black cumin seeds (Nigella sativa) - it takes 10 kg of seeds to press just 1 litre of oil. The manufacturer uses a proprietary blend of Indian black cumin seeds, milder in taste than the pure Polish variety, which makes it easier for children to enjoy too. The oil is unrefined and cold-pressed, so it keeps the full range of natural components - including the characteristic sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

The oil's composition was tested by the Institute of Food Technology and Analysis at Lodz University of Technology - the UHPLC-DAD method confirmed 9.6 mg/ml of thymoquinone, a compound characteristic of black cumin seeds. Over 83% of the oil is unsaturated fatty acids - mainly linoleic acid (omega-6) and oleic acid (omega-9). Linoleic acid contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels - the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 10 g of linoleic acid. Heart disease has multiple risk factors, and altering one of them may or may not have a beneficial effect.

Intended use

How to use

  • Adults - 1 tablespoon daily
  • Children 1-2 years - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Children 2-5 years - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Children 6 years and older - 1 teaspoon

Always use it cold - add to yogurt, a smoothie with lemon juice, a salad or a cream soup, or combine with honey or maple syrup to soften the taste.

Storage

Before opening, store in a cool, shaded place - the dark bottle protects the oil from light. After opening, keep refrigerated and seal tightly, as contact with air speeds up oxidation. If the oil stands undisturbed for a while, a natural sediment may settle at the bottom of the bottle - shake gently before use.
